Finding your Niche

Your customers have their smartphones glued to their hip and a world of knowledge at their fingertips. It would be foolish to underestimate how informed and savvy they are. When it comes to promoting your unique products and services, finding your niche market and making friends with them builds relationships that boost business.

Who are your niche?

The first step in finding your niche, the people who regularly interact with your business, is analysing exactly what you do. Take a long, hard look at your products and services and reflect on who you’re targeting. You can research social media analytics and identify the demographics that engage with your content. Take a flick through your followers and get informed about who is interested. Communicate with your staff and get to know who they’ve been serving. Once you find your niche, you can promote your business with strategic communications that entice your customers.

What do they want?

Once you find your tribe you need to figure out what they want from you. What is it about your business that draws them in and how can you capitalise on that? One of the many benefits of finding a niche target market is the ease of reaching out. You can pinpoint a precise group and communicate directly, gaining insight into what you can do better. Your customers will feel appreciated when their voice is heard, and it will keep them coming back for more.

Where can you find them?

You know who you’re targeting and have the tricks up your sleeve ready to fire, but where? Identifying the best platform to reach out through ensures your message is heard loud and clear. Are your products and services visually engaging? Showcase your portfolio with a dynamic Instagram feed that vividly guides your customers through your story. An effective email digital marketing campaign can keep your tech savvy clients in the loop. Interact with specific social media community groups for a pathway that leads directly to your niche clients.

Making friends

Communication is a two-way street. Don’t just talk to your tribe, listen to them and use their feedback to improve. Keeping customers on your side ensures they keep coming back for more… with friends. Offering exclusive benefits to loyal customers can strengthen the bond between brand and buyer, building a relationship that lasts the distance. Contributing to network groups as a friend rather than business can enhance your reputation and brand identity. Don’t focus on the transaction, if you build a concrete friendship first, the sales will follow.

Rather than shouting your message from the rooftops for everyone to hear, target a strategic campaign at the people who matter. Find your loyal customers and communicate with them personally to build a solid relationship. Struggling to figure out who you should be talking to? Talk to us instead!
